The baby would be covered for medical emergencies and repatriation if needed. Accessories such as buggies or car seats can be considered under the baggage section up to the policy limits. Furthermore, if you take 1 or 2 Year Multitrip Family policy you can include your baby at no extra cost.

How much is travel insurance for children?

At Multitrip.com, there is no difference in price between children and adult cover. However, if the plan is to travel together, it will work out cheaper to take out a 1 or 2 Year Multitrip Family Travel Insurance policy as up to 8 of your children can be included at no additional cost (maximum age limit applies).

What is the maximum age to be considered a child for Multitrip Family Travel Insurance?

To qualify as a child on a Multitrip Family Travel Insurance policy, your child must be under the age of 19 (or under 24 if living at home and in full time education).

Can a child and parent/legal guardian travel separately on Multitrip Family Travel Insurance?

On Multitrip Family Travel Insurance policies, the insured parents/legal guardians can travel separately/independently. Children under 16 years of age are insured to travel independently from their parents/legal guardians provided each child is accompanied by a responsible adult 18 years or over. Any child 16 years or over is covered to travel independently from their parents/legal guardians on an organised school or college trip with a responsible adult 18 years or over.

Can children under 18 travel independently on a Single Trip or Backpacker Travel Insurance?

Yes, provided they have purchased a policy for an individual the child is covered to travel independently.

Does travel insurance cover children with pre-existing medical conditions?
